Encourager Vs. Discourager

As one man told us - "When my mate encourages me, I feel like there's nothing I can't do! There's no mountain I can't climb or problem I cannot solve. I'm the man!" Nothing reenergizes more. I have an utmost concern for women who constantly "push" discouraging comments to their husband. The truth is the word "Encourager" is so foreign to them, discourage is all they know how to do. Come on now.......think a moment at this question: Do you look for opportunities to compliment him on his wisdom? Vs. "You don't ever know the answer to any question I am asking?" Bottom Line: Encouragement is to the soul what spinach is to Popeye.

Hello ladies,
I just caught up with all these wise words of wisdom from our coach. Isn't she incredible! What a gift of encouragement you have Carol.
Today I came across the words to a song by Gwen Smith called "Help Me" and these words touched my heart so I wanted to share them with you as I know you can also relate! They are:

I am so many things to so many people
Constantly on the go
A daughter, a mother, a wife and friend
I need You to draw me close
Lord, I want to be a woman who honors You
I want to be Your hands in all I do
Help me
Help me be that woman
As I look to see Your face
Help me show Your loving kindness
Guide me to know and choose Your ways
Help me nurture my sweet children
I want to be a faithful wife
Let me reach out with compassion
Help me
Oh Lord, help me
Praise you with my life
In whatever I do and in what I say
I want Your love to show
At work, with friends, at church and home
Help me display Your hope
Lord, I want to be a woman that honors You
I want to be Your hands in all I do

Blessings and grace to all of you!

Amen!! I know that encouragement can make our husbands move mountains :0) I also think that hand and hand with this is Appreciation!! It is one of my husband's love languages and I can just see his face shine when I show appreciation and encouragement to him!

Hugs & Prayers!

Hey - what can I say? Awesome comments! A simple way to keep the discouragement away! All we have to do is send encouragement!
I saw a poster in the Bookstore "Life is a test. It is only a test. Had this been a real life you would have been instructed where to go and what to do." Whenever I think of this humorous bit of wisdom, it reminds me to not take my life so seriously. And, of course, everyone knows I do not counsel the men, but it's amazing what men say their wife or significant other will say statements that are so negative and discouraging. The question is as Gwen sang that Cheryl commented...... to display love and hope......that my dear friends is encouragement.

Yes, Carol is incredible. Carol you always seem to know just what to write about. I do need to be more of an encourager to my husband I confess. I know I love it when the Lord encourages me everyday when I read His word, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" "I can do ALL things through Christ...and much more. The great thing in our Chrisian walk is that it's never too late to start doing something. Sooooo I will make it a point to encourage my husband every chance I get.
